Psychiatric Medication Management

Thoughtful, Personalized, and Compassionate Care Across the Lifespan

At the Adult and Pediatric Institute, we believe medication is just one piece of the healing process—not the whole story. Our psychiatric team takes a “less is more” approach, carefully evaluating whether medication is appropriate, and if so, finding the right option at the lowest effective dose. We provide care that is collaborative, personalized, and rooted in a deep understanding of each client’s needs.

Our Approach to Psychiatric Medication Management

  • Holistic Evaluation – We take the time to get to know each client, exploring medical history, lifestyle, stressors, and goals before making any recommendations.
  • Thoughtful Prescribing – Medication is never a “cookie-cutter” solution. When needed, our psychiatrists use evidence-based prescribing tailored to the individual.
  • Integrated Care – Medication management is fully connected with our therapy and behavioral health services, ensuring the whole person is supported—not just the symptoms.
  • Ongoing Monitoring – We provide consistent follow-up appointments to monitor effectiveness, adjust doses, and address side effects promptly.
  •

Frequently Asked Questions About Psychiatric Medication Management

Do you always prescribe medication?

No. At the Adult and Pediatric Institute, we believe in a “less is more” approach. Medication is only recommended when it is clinically appropriate and after we’ve completed a thorough evaluation. Many clients benefit from therapy alone, while others find the best outcomes with a combination of therapy and medication.

What types of conditions do you treat with medication?

Our providers prescribe for a wide range of mental health concerns across the lifespan, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, and trauma-related conditions. Every treatment plan is personalized to the individual’s needs.

Do you prescribe controlled medications like stimulants?

Yes, when clinically appropriate and safe. These prescriptions are managed with careful monitoring, ongoing assessments, and strict adherence to DEA and medical board guidelines to ensure safety and effectiveness.

How often will I need follow-up appointments?

Most clients are scheduled for a follow-up within 2–4 weeks of starting or adjusting medication. Once stable, appointments may be spaced further apart. This ensures that your treatment remains effective and any side effects are addressed quickly.

Do you combine medication management with therapy?

Absolutely. We believe in an integrated care model. Clients who receive both therapy and medication management often experience better outcomes. Our providers collaborate closely with our therapists to create a comprehensive treatment plan.

Do you accept insurance for medication management?

Yes, the Adult and Pediatric Institute accepts many major insurance plans to make care more accessible. Our admissions team can help you verify your coverage before your first appointment.

What ages do you see for medication management?

We serve children, adolescents, and adults. Our providers are experienced in tailoring treatment approaches for each stage of life.
